BMW Socket
 

Can you help, can't find the information again!!

i ve bought a BMW socket/plug which plugs into the aux socket under the headstock.

This has three yellow wires coming from it they are numbered 1 2 and 3. One of these is not required the others are live / negative .

Any idea which one is which ? i ve seen it on here somewhere .

You dont need the middle wire. To figure out which is live and which is earth plug the socket onto the bike and check which wires connect through the plug. The red wire with white stripe on the bike side is your live and the brown is the earth.

Hi Thanks will give it a go and then get the GPS up and running!,

I had my GPS wired into that socket. After awhile the CanBus would, for some reason, decide to reduce the voltage to the GPS and it would change over to battery power. If I noticed it, was a real pain getting back onto bike power - usually had to pull over, turn the bike off for awhile then it might be fine . . . for awhile.

Finally hard wired it to the battery through a Fuse Block and no problems since.
