Duty on parts

Hello. While budgeting for all my new parts, i've noticed that Motobins are half the price of any shop here in Canada. I just spent $137.50CAN. on a carb-kit, gaskets and o-rings!?!?! My question is what taxes and duties are applied when crossing the boarder? In the end is it still worth it, or should i continue to support my fellow Canadian parts dealerships? Or, is it possible to have the package sent by a friend as a gift?
Thanx!

I get a discount from my buddies locally, but I still buy almost everything from Motobins.

Just make it a decent sized order. There is no duty on mc parts, just the usual taxes, plus of course shipping.

Generally I am ALL in favour of supporting your local dealer BUT BMW Canada is just simply charging too much. Not the dealers fault, so buy everything else from them, and let them know that you buy from Motobins and why. Eventually maybe BMW Canada will figure it out.

I to have had good resultes ordering from Motobins, as Grant confirms. One note on ordering from other country's: Packages coming in from the US do get charged alot more for some reason. Part of this is UPS - the standard for most shipping there. UPS charges a substantial handling fee for orders crossing the border. I made a few orders from US suppliers, but Motobins has always been cheaper - and great service as well in my experience.
