F650 Engine Number Location
 

Not so much a topic as a question: I don't know where my 1997 F650's engine number is!
I've somehow managed to make it from the UK to Nepal without anyone getting to officious about matching the number on the engine to the number written in the Carnet. However, having had to bribe a Nepali customs guy to get the bike out of the country to Bangkok I feel its time to admit my ignorance and locate the bloody thing. Any of you know? Many thanks.

hope you are still in need of this answer to your inquiry.

the engine number is facing the rear wheel. you might find a torch useful; kneel down on the right hand side of your bike and fel the engine block facing the rear wheel. clean it first and then try different angles to find the number.
