F650GS 2004 - ABS Cancelling Issue
I am having trouble cancelling the ABS on my 2004 F650GS.
If I switch the ignition to "on" and hold the ABS button down, the ABS light flashes per the instructions. However, when I hit the ignition, the system seems to reset itself and even pushing the ABS switch down afterwards or during doesn't make the ABS light flash again. I have had a moment on dirt as a result (oops bent forks) and would like to understand how everyone cancels ABS. Your thoughts / recommendations. Scott |
Here's the deal.
Neutral-ABS stupid rocker switch down-front brake on-key on-starter button-holding ABS down-when red lights blinks back on----you are done dude. If this doesn't work every time, you probably moved one of your three hands required for this, just do it again. It'll work. |
mmmm... I will try the 1. hand on brake, 2. ABS button down, 3. kill switch on, 4. ignition on approach and let you know if that helps (those wacky german engineers....) Thanks for the tip. Scott

Last one I rode was simply
neutral, rocker down, start bike while continuing to hold down, continue to hold button 2-3 seconds, (light may or may not blink, don't remember) done. |
I have an 03 F. Engine running, sitting still in neutral, hold down the button for 3 seconds, light will begin to blink. works every time for me.

Thanks guys. Appears that I need to hold the button down after I flick the kill switch and hit the starter, BUT not for too long. Had 100% success over the weekend.
