F650GS Alarm problems
Short: Anyone got any idea if it's possible to bypass/remove/replace the alarm on an '07 F650GS single? (Prob the same on a G650GS?)
Long: There appears to be a short circuit in the alarm - Fuse 2 blows if I try to start the bike with the alarm connected. My multimeter says 0 ohms resistance between the circuit side of the fuse and ground. If I disconnect the alarm (using the three pin socket near the tail light) then the meter stops saying 0 ohms and the fuse doesn't blow, but the bike won't start. I assume that's some kind of alarm/immobiliser effect. I talked to BMW, but they won't guess/help out over the phone - they need to see the bike. Any ideas? Cheers |
I think that stumped everyone! Sadly I'd probably say "I need to see it" too. Did you figure it out? Was it something that might happen to someone else?
