F650GS leaking fork seal

Hi lovely HUBB folks.

Quick tech question: leaking fork seal - is it bad to delay it's repair?

Detail:
- 2007 BMW 650 single ridden by my lovely and diminutively proportioned girlfriend
- Fork is losing oil via the left fork arm seal, but fork still performs fine
- We are currently in Punta Arenas, South America and heading North
- We are planning to get this fork seal sorted in El Calafate (?) in a thousand km or so.

Is this a terrible idea likely to result in total fork destruction, death of girlfriend, contract hit on me paid for by girlfriends psychotic and well connected parents etc etc or just OK to leave for a bit?

Thanks folks - your advice much appreciated.

Mine leaked for about 1500 miles before I got around to replacing them. Common thing for the baby GS. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi DeeG.

Exactly what I wanted to hear.

I've moved the wiper/dust seal away and fished around under the oil seal with a bit of a plastic bottle, so we may now be good anyway.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for reply.

Chris
