gas leak?
 

I am in Ecuador at about 3000 meters. My bike is running fine but the choke doesn´t work and every time I start the bike I have to give it throtle and then it releases gas (excess gas I suppose) through the vent hose (?)on the side. I didn´t notice a big change in gas consumption. Is this normal? I also noticed I needed to add a quart of oil. I changed the oil 1500 miles ago. Are these normal symptoms from riding at high altitude?

Hi, 3000 meters is quite high, over 9000 feet in real terms, any bike will run rich if the jets have not been changed due to less oxygen in the air. Regards Chris

Problem solved. I cleaned the carburator and lower the floater a little bit. Thanks again,
