leaking oil from brakesystem (rear) F650GS

On our last trip my girlfriend suddenly had no more brakingpower on the rearbrake. This on a road in the Pyrenees. Yeeeeeha....

Turned all the oil was lost and it was leaking out of the connection that is on the left side of the bike, the front one. Were the line comes from the right side, and turns to the rear of the bike.
It is a terrible place to get to. I was able to stop most of the leaking by fastening the thing just a litlle.

Funny enough it could go well for a day afterwards and then suddenly she would loose all brakingpower again. When I refilled the thing, tried to get all the air out the system, and test it, I would not see any leaking any more.
Just don't understand were all the oil goes to so suddenly to be braking fine one moment and just a bit later no more oil at all anymore. And then I refill the thing, try it out and can't see anything leaking.
Blowed me away about three weeks every 2 days or so on the trip.

Anybody any idea? Bike is going to the shop anyway, but wanted to see if there is any toughts or other experiences on / with this problem.

I have a feeling you may be already aware of the F650 site, www.f650.com, but I will reply with this info just in case. They have a great collection of folks who hover at thier computers waiting for the chance to answer such a question.
Cheers,
Rene

Hey Rene,

Thanks, I already knew about the site. But I always come back to my first info source. Can't help it.
The dealer was supprised and I am curious what the explenation will be. The bike only has 20.000km on it.
Or he was supprised to see a girl that puts 10000km's extra on her bike in say 2 months ;-)

Just a follow up:

Turned our the fuelline was broken r seriousely bent.
The dealer was not suprised (seems to happen more often) and said it was a consequense of 'hard' use of the bike.

But we did not go seriousely on dirt roads or off road. It was my girlfriends first long trip. And she did not hit any big stones or branches...
On top off all the bike was still under 20.000k's.

Bit worrying. Hope it is a unique incident and that the bike proves more trusty further on.

PS: ask a colleage that rides a GS 1200. He was not supprised. He broke his brake line of his front brake after 50.000k's. His dealer told the same story. But that bike never went off the tarmac!
