New BMW F650 Range (Birmingham Show)
 

Just saw the new 650 range atr the NEC and i must say they look gorgeous, far more modern than the dakar and gs and top bikes.

The baby HP2 (Thinks its the X-Challenege) looks much more like the 1200 Adventure, nicer styling and shinier.

Will this signal the phasing out of the dakar/gs?

Would love one, 9 litre tank and light frame will be big issues though, so don't look suitable for overlanding without mods.

ANy thoughts?

The F650GS & Dakar models are staying in the range & will be sold alongside the new G650-series.

The G-series will be marketed in the UK between £5,000 & £6,000according to press reports. My guess is that the XCountry will be the cheapest, followed by the XChallenge, with the XMoto supermoto variant the most expensive.

I think the F650's will appeal to those who want the larger 16 litre tank and for whom the bike is a commuter/only form of transport whilst the G-series may appeal to those who want one as a second bike.

I believe that BMW GB may be replacing at least some of its Off Road School F650's with the XChallenge next year, in which I may have to give it a go.
