R100GS
Could someone tell me the different between a R100GS and R100GS PD. I have a R1150RT but looking for a R100GS, but I see alot of R100GS PD for sale.

Basically a PD - Paris-Dakar - has a few more "off-road" goodies. Bigger tank, protection bars around the headlight/instruments, skid plate and a few other odds and ends.
All details of the differences in detail are here. (From a link on our links page) have fun looking! ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com |
I have had an R100GS for 8 years, they are a good bike. Only thing is every 20k or so pulling out the driveshaft and relubing the splines. I also have an R80 G/S. No probs with this as the driveshaft is in an oil-bath

Yes the R100 GS PD is a pretty good bike. The standard fuel tank with 35 l is good fo nearly 500km. I used my bike since 135000km without any problems of the drive shaft. Last week my BMW-dealer checked the driveshaft and everything is okay. Hopefully for the next 100000km.
