R1150 Adventure Green switch
Just got a 1150 Adventure and the dash board has a green switch.
I looked in the Owners Manual from BMW then in the "Advernture Supplement" and then in my Haynes manual. It is not mentioned. It looks like a real part of BMW design as it has a black moulding around it. It lies between the Speedo and the Rider Information Display. It is a bottle green toggle switch. What does it do? |

I had an R1150GS, but I can't remember that: post a pic and it may jog some memories! |
I think it's the E&C emergency signal switch...
When you break down, you press it and a light beams into the sky, very much like the "Bat Signal". Within 20 seconds a Hercules helicopter will touch down with a team of mechanics and a make up artist and have you back on your way. Sorry, couldn't resist it.... i'll get my coat. :Beach: |
On/Off switch for espresso machine? For compressor to blow up GS-sex toy? To activate nitrous supercharger? Sorry don't know and should know better than to write such :offtopic: drivel, but TT started it. It's his fault :innocent:. Maybe ask on ukgser or gsclubuk. I'm sure somebody over there knows.
An aside: I once went to a local BMW meeting and asked a GS rider 1. if he knew what all the buttons on his heavily-buttoned R1150GS-ADV dashboard did and 2. would his bike explode if he pressed all of them at the same time. I was very disappointed when he just looked at me and didn't reply...:confused1: C |
I have a gsa 2004, no gteen button, switch or whaterver. Only green thingy is for signallights. But you shouldmhave figured that one out by yourself.......so, it's not original. Maybe see where the wires go to?
