R1200GS wind buffeting, Up grade to a Cee Baily or new adventure wind screen??
 

I got beat up from wind on my stock R1200GS windsheild so I purchased a 2" taller and 2" wider Cee Baily windshield.... I'm still getting beat up, I'm 5'10" tall with a 32" inseam. Now I'm pissed off and thinking of buying a 3 or 4" taller Cee Baily or maybe even trying the new 06 Adventure windsheild and putting it on my R1200GS? any body try one of these yet and whats your thoughts. I love the bike other why's.

I'm assuming you mean the dreaded 'BMW buffeting' effect? If so, your best bet might be to have a look at the UKGSer or the ADVrider sites as there's been much mentioned about this problem. You might need to sift through some dross before you find anything of substance though ;-)

I'm 6'2" and have got a 1150GS and have had a lot of problems with 'buffeting', so much so that it feels like getting your head kicked in once you get the speed up. I've tried a replacement screen (higher & wider) with and without Tobinators (which give the screen a bit more adjustment) without much success, and have now gone back to the stock screen which isn't that high..

I was convinced (and still am) that Tobinators are the most expensive 4 bits of metal and some screws you will ever buy, however I've persisted with them and today after much tweaking, I finally seem to have got the bloody buffeting reduced to a bearable minimum with the screen set about as far back as it can go. This is actually a compromise though, as you need the visor down all the time otherwise the wind and bumble bees will hit you right in the eyes and you really don't want that.

AeroFlowScreens.com are known to provide the most coverage.
I have one on my 1150 and it's been good.

I'm using a laminar lip (http://www.laminarlip.com) with some success. It's better than stock, but not perfect.

I'm about 3" taller than you and I feel that if I was just a bit shorter life would be good with the lip.

The other option, which has finally worked well for me in combination with the laminar lip is "get used to it!". Once I stopped obsessing about it, it doesn't bother me that much. :)

I"m 5'10" with an 06 1200GSA, no buffeting. I personally feel the 06 winchscreen rocks. Love moving it up for wind blockage on the highway. Then move it back down for offroad and better close-up road viewing. The adjustability is a great feature.

I put a Z-Tecnic screen on my 1200GS. It eliminated most of the buffeting and the wind "noise" level in my helmet at higher speeds has greatly reduced. I can now hear my music at 80 mph.

Wind Buffetting
 

I would support the winglets suggestion, I fitted tobinators first on my 05 1200gs and after tweaking and adjusting it helped, but the winglets reduced the buffeting immediately. I can cruise now at 80/90 mph in comfort.
