R80gs-st rear brake
 

Hi I have a 1983 R80st that has been made into a gs style complete with a Suzuki DR front end and Hagon rear shock.
It seems that the rear brake comes on when the suspension is compressed, I also feel movement through the brake pedal when suspension moves.
This is worse when carrying a passenger and I fear it will get worse when loaded with luggage.
I have read some where that the early gs had an issue with the rear brake.
Has any one had a similar problem or know what I could do to fix this.
I have not had the bike long and just before I bought it it was serviced and set up by a independent BMW garage who set the rear suspension to a hard setting.

You should be able to minimise the effect by careful adjustment both of the lever backstop and the rod length. A cable conversion like the HPN should eliminate the problem all together.
