repair manual r80g/s
hello, i m looking for the official bmw r80g/s repair manual, edited by bmw, in french or english.
if you have it ... thanx a lot happy trails |
apparently, there would be someone in la rochelle (france), he has it (in french for sure, maybe in english).
he s selling copies of the original book (280 pages around) the more he has customers, the faster he goes to make the copies : RETRO DOC MOTO Achat - Vente Documentations et Publicités MOTOS anciennes Distributeur revue technique RMT et revue Motocyclettiste Manuels d'entretien et d'atelier - Catalogues de pièces Revues MOTO de 1920 à 1990 11 rue Auguste Roux 17300 ROCHEFORT Téléphone / Fax : 05 46 99 57 28 Portable : 06 77 36 76 97 E-mail : retrodocmoto@aol.com Vente par correspondance unfortunately, the link : http://dogpage.future.easyspace.com : is not working anymore, it was the original bmw repair manual of the R80G/S. HAPPY TRAILS |
Hi Vincent, I would be interested also, if it is the english version. How much for the copy?
Cheers, Peter |
hello
here with a few friends, we sent an email to the guy doing the "business", no answer yet, i let you know. we think it s a french copy, i m still searching for english copy on the web ... if anyone finds it ... cheers |
Vince,
Last I checked Capital Cycle in the USA had the original repair manual for sale and I bought one. $70usd. Just as handy is the part catalogue that motobins had for sale. I have both and use them all the time. The bindings fall apart. They are paperback size. Bill |
bill,
thank you :-) my search keeps going ... latest news : alec s. tell ms : clymer (i think, maybe spelling mistake) is excellent. for bmw originals or copies of originals, i m in touch with : 1 - http://www.fndiffusion.ch/index.htm 2 - RETRO DOC MOTO Achat - Vente Documentations et Publicités MOTOS anciennes Distributeur revue technique RMT et revue Motocyclettiste Manuels d’entretien et d’atelier - Catalogues de pièces Revues MOTO de 1920 à 1990 11 rue Auguste Roux 17300 ROCHEFORT Portable : 06 77 36 76 97 E-mail : retrodocmoto@aol.com Vente par correspondance i m not sure if they have it in french, in english, both how can i contact the company you re writing about pls ? i could be interested thanx |
I have Clymer and Haynes manuals. They are both OK, but I think the original BMW would be much clearer about most repairs.
Thanks Bill, I will check out Capital Cycle and let you Know... |

I have a english version of the original R80G/S workshop manual. If somoene is willing to host a site with this informatian or add it to thier site I can see if I can make a digital copy available.

Hi, I am not electronically savvy enough to figure out how to host the workshop manual, other than scanning it page by page and posting the photos somewhere...
But maybe someone like Grant could help us out. |
hello gsworkshop,
i sent you a few emails recently, no news, don t hesitate to contact me cheers |
Just send the electronic version to me.
Grant |
Long wait finally over
I know I promised this over two years ago, but in the next few days you will find a PDF of the R80G/S workshop manual for GS's from 1980 to 1987 on the workshop page on my website: Welcome to GS Workshop
|
it's all done!!!
The workshop manual for the 1980 to 1987 R80G/S is finally available as a free download on this website - Welcome to GS Workshop -
It covers the 80 to 87 mono-lever 2V air-cooled boxer model and is illustrated with black & white photographs, and yes it does include the complete repair of the final drive unit. The file is about 19 MB large and depending on the speed of your connection it will take a couple of minutes to download. Dial-up connectors might need to be much more patient for the 249 pages to download. To follow will be the manuals of the R80-100GS and R1150GS, optimized to download in half the time. You can also be on the lookout for more useful info and images on R80 and 100 GS's coming up on the workshop page. |
R80g/s manual
That's excellent!!!
Thanks for all your time and effort in putting the manual on line, I've just downloaded it to use with my R65GS which is just a smaller engined and detuned version of the R80g/s. |
My site ran out of bandwidth and is currently off line. I will have it up and running in no time so keep checking.
|
Could you not 'zip' the file to make it smaller, and use less of your bandwidth?
