Stock GS bags vs Jesse Bags
I have a 05 1200 GS with the stock bags and am thinking about Jesse bag. I am happy with the stock, yes I know they will eventuraly break, but am realy wondering how much more room there is in practical space they have over the stock.
I know they are better every which way just want to know about the space Ratso |
Doesn't the website explain the volume and size of the bags/boxes?

I have had both the plastic vario panniers and Jesse panniers on a 1200GS.
The Jesse panniers are much larger than the varios, even when the varios are extended. The lid packing is particularly useful. I also like the way the bottoms of the panniers are cantered to allow leg clearance when 'paddling' through sand. They are strong construction and take falls well. I eventually returned the Jesse panniers due to problems getting sufficient exhaust clearance and water ingress. In retrospect I feel the vario panniers are stronger than most people realise, so long as you don't fall with them in the extended position, and I have a grudging respect for them. An example of one fall is at A piste too far. If you never use them in the extended position you can substantially increase the carrying capacity by removing the extending mechanism. Tim |
