F 650/800 GS rear brake bleeding/reservoir.
Those of us that own the F 650/800 GS know what a pain it is to try and refill the reservoir for the rear brake when carrying out a bleed or routine maintenance. It really needs two people............unless you just make yourself a little thingy to carry in your tool box.
A very simple 90 degree alu angle bracket available from any DIY store. Bore out the holes to fit if too small, give a bit of a bend to allow for the frame and ''voila'', it hold the reservoir away from the body work in an upright and steady position. |
That looks very vulnerable and likely to be ripped off in a dive Pongo.
IMHO, retro fit and use a syringe to refill! Doddle :scooter: Most vets will sell you the larger size ones (without needles which you don't need) |
. Perhaps I didn't explain correctly ( but please re -read OP). It's only to be used whilst carrying out a bleed or maintenance, just to hold the reservoir out from the body work, leaving your hands free for activating the pedal and the bleed nipple. Its' not a permanent fix, just a useful tool to have in your tool box. Syringes just squirt liquid all over the place, I only use them for draining the old fluid out.

Nope, I missed that 'maintenance' bit !:blushing:
Still, by the time it took you to fit that bracket, I would have bled my brakes!:innocent: |
