But seriously, sounds like VERY GOOD gear! :thumbup1:

Early Mesh was crap, would tear apart in a slide ... but it's since undergone about 3 generations of improvements and development. ALL the major manufacturers Mesh has vastly improved. Much stronger now.

Most ALL (including KLIM) is made in China. Probably a lot is made in the same factory. Rukka is a big step up in quality, IMO, but too expensive for most in USA. But always good to hear of new innovation with riding gear. Ride safe, hope you never test the Rukka's strength!

It doesn't matter where it's made but to what specification. The design and development phase is more critical for new tech.

True, generally speaking with Chinese garments you get what you pay for. Spec detail covers a wide range of quality, fabrics and features.

But as you say, design matters. But IMO, regards the high end brands, it's mostly about profit margins and marketing.

Create a positive image, get the right Pro riders using your gear ... along with well placed ads. Have shills on Moto forums worlds wide, ply them with free gear. It works ... apparently.

KLIM has played this marketing game well. Not too bad for a company that a few years ago only sold Ski wear!

Klim have hitched their wagon to the current ADV craze and KTM, like they are joined at the hip. They've pushed themselves up among the high end brands. $$$$$ Very clever brand management ... Klim are now a status brand. A must have brand.

Anyone compared Klim products back to back with other current offerings in the same class? I doubt our friends at First Gear, Aerostich, Tourmaster, Olympia, AGV, Rev 'It, Cycle Gear, Joe Rocket, Icon and several others ... are standing still.

Millennials and Noobs will go for latest trends, but it may take some convincing to sell these old Geezers. :smartass:

Truth is, some of this crowd own Klim gear, have done for 5 years, and most are on KTM's. To me, this speaks volumes. The above are some of the best riders in California. Combined nearly 450 years riding experience. But on this 4 day, 1500 mile ride in mixed weather, the 'Stich was garment of choice. Now why is that?

Layers are a pain sometime,
I remember traveling across Germany I had a Bmw adventure suit it had three layer suit the jacket it self wasn't water proof it had a water proof layer inside the jacket also had a thermal layer, it rained, it was hot, it rained again,
It was difficult to stop on a motorway and I Neely pass out with all the layers on,
With my kilm one layer, I've never suffered like that again,
There's nothing worse than putting a wet jacket back on after stopping

True. That's why I just wear and oversized rain jacket in Australia. Don't mind pulling over to toss it back into my pack.
The liner that Klim adds can also be worn over the top apparently although it seems tight to me. Probably wouldn't.

I use the dri rider air flow2 jacket n it's been ok so far we sometimes ride in 38 - 40 deg days and it's fine in them temps lve just got a pair of the air flow pants but haven't had a chance to try em out yet

That looks more like a hybrid that leans more towards compression suits. Like the look of that for dirt riding although it's a little short. Wear long sleeve underneath though.

I use mesh jacket in Florida and its hot and humid but while travelling my option are rallycross jacket bmw air pants or if very rough terrain I use full armor with just a jersey over it. All that work great wuth high temperature and humidity but don t forget a large camelback for hydration ( gatorade seems to be working better than water for me)
