Coleman tents are good kit. They are better than many and well priced. The clip on poles are quick but the clips can break off after a while so take a few spares. The vestabule isn't that big on the tent you're looking at - perhaps have a look around for a tent with a sightly bigge one for cooking in the rain etc. Having said that is comes down to personal choice.

I bought a Coleman Cobra 2 for my S. American trip. I have been out here for seven weeks, mainly camping, and already one of the zips on the inner has failed. This could be an isolated fault, of course. I wasn't going to mention it but the moderator persuaded me! Mick |
I'm happy you reported it. I don't want to have a tent with a 7 foot zipper fail, that's 14 feet of sewing which could take me several days to complete! If I could even find such a zipper...it was very difficult to get one for my backpack which is 36" long.

I used a Cobra 2 RS, every night for a year in C. America and had no problems with the build quality, its a great little tent - even through the rainy season - and a Tropical Storm - its cheap too. Ive now switched to a North Face Pebble which is a bit better as its a dome (self supporting), packs as small as the Cobra, good in rain, snow or heat and its still good value - picked it up in Canada for $80 CAD
