Gortex glueing

I got some police Hi Viz Gortex pants on ebay. They have been great so far.
They have slits in the side to get to your pockets I would like to glue or stitch them up as I get water in when on the bike any ideas on how to do that would be great. What glues?

I repaired a rip in a gore tex jacket recently. You can buy gore tex repair patches but the ones I found were too small. I ended up using Nylon Repair Patch Self Adhesive Waterproof 10cmx20cm Umbrellas Tents Raincoats from ebay.

You can sew them and then treat the seams with tent sealer.

Taping them with a tent repair stuff will make that section 'non breathable'.

The seam will also be non breathable but it is a much smaller area... the seam will not 'look good' where the sealer is applied - goes to a white snot like trace.

Thank you for your help I used Shoegoo (as I had it around) and clamped the seams together with wood, glue and clamp. I will let you know how it goes the job looks good and clean see if it lasts.
