Hein Garicke in Oz

G'day all,

Does anyone know who stocks Hein Garicke in Melbourne / Oz? I'm looking for a pair of Toureg pants.

Cheers

Although unable to help out with HG in Australia, a word of caution re: Toureg trousers.

I've had the Rallye GTX jacket for 18 months now. Last September I wanted either the matching trousers or the TRG trousers. Finding them was no problem but they were cut VERY low on the waist. I physically could not pull the waistband of the trousers up on to my waist without severe discomfort to my testicles - and that was whilst standing. I was quite disappointed as I really wanted them. Their "cut" is similar to the fashionable jeans that young girls wear i.e. waistband hanging halfway down their hips but without the thong showing.....

HG is essentially a German franchise outfit. There are franchises in France, Austria and GB. I'd be very surprised if there were any down under. I had a quick look on their GB website, but couldn't find any foreign order info. On their German site, however, they state that they will deliver to other countries. You could try that...

However, just one bad experience: I bought a Dri-Rider textile suit at our shop here in France. Supposedly waterproof. It doesn't rain much around here so it took me over a year to discover that the pants leaked badly. HG refused warranty. (In Germany the suit was cheaper and comes with a two-year warranty!) The shop exchanged them on their own nickel, but the replacement leaked the same. :-(

So, if you do buy, buy from the German web site. http://www.hein-gericke.de/
