Seat repair!
I have a Corbin seat, and the sides have recently both gained small tears. I'm not sure how well stitching will work. I can't be the first to have this issue; what have other people done to rectify this problem? I'm obviously a) trying to get it sorted before it gets worse and b) trying to avoid buying a new seat!
Thanks in advance for the help. |
Depending on the size of the tear of course.....
I had a half moon shaped tear in my G650Gs seat about the size of a 20 pence coin, along the side where the pillions thigh would rest. I used a cracking bit of equipment that I have been finding ever increasing amounts of uses for, its a rubber silicon putty that can be easily shaped, sculpted into most anything requiring a flexiable patch. Sugru The future needs fixing - the future needs fixing - sugru So far I have patched my seat, shaped waterproof covers for my modified light connecters, made brackets to hold my charging cables in position on the handlebars......made repair patches for my gloves and boots and crafted a nose guard onto my motocross goggles. |
Find a vehicle or boat trimmer near you and toddle in with the seat under your arm. The price of a few drinks should sort you out a very acceptable repair.
