stoves and water filters

I've read threads on above but most are either out dated or get hi jacked onto other topics. I can asess camping kit etc but as for water filters and bike fuel burning stoves to take into africa is there one that stands out as the best at the moment?

Don't need a water filter IMO and a Coleman 533 (aka 'Sportster') has done me for years on Afro bike trips and fuel with no maintenace other other than filling it up.
I've never got on with those expensive 'red bottle' jobs at all.

I agree with Chris - the Coleman is simple and reliable. I've had mine for years - and it's worked very well.

Regarding a Water filter - I can reccomend the First Need Portable Filter. It's tough, easy to use, quite compact, not too pricey. and it does the job!

How come no water filter?
Excuse my ignorance but where do you get most of your drink water?
Buy it in bottles or sterelise tapwater with tablets?
How much water do you need to carry with you at one time?
I plan to stick mainly to roads rather than going cross country passing thru morocco, mauritania, senegal, gambia, mali and hopefully algeria
