Tentsile...

Does anybody use a Tentsile tent on their motorbike trip?

Looks kind of tricky to use in the desert - unless you can find two camels to string it between.

ha ha ha! Very funny!
I love the idea of them, but wondered if anybody else uses them for motorbiking trips. sadly only the big versions can also be set up at ground level, but they are not waterproof from underneath, so they'd need an additional ground sheet for use when suspended camping isn't possible... (like dessert and only one camel around).

Have been wondering about using HeimPlanet's Fistral in conjunction with Tensile's Mini T-Hammock. Think that'll work but is it worth it???

These things, like a cross between a tent and a hammock?

Seems great, as long as you're in a forest.

They do look good but in the UK there isn't much wild camping and a lot of the rallies I do on the bike have loads of tents crammed in small places with not may trees at tie onto!

I guess I could utilise 3 peoples fully loaded GS with all the TT bling to hang the tent from as they would weigh the same a big tree anyway :thumbup1:

I actually considered those tents for my trips here in Sweden, since there are almost always enough trees available. The exemption is if you want to camp directly at the coast/ beach, then you need a free standing conventional tent that you you can set up directly on the rocky ground. One aspect to keep me from buying one is the heavy weight. During summer I have been using an MSR Hubba NX, which is perfectly useable at a fraction of the weight!

Yeah I understand, I'm torn between the two, love the concept but wondering if I'd end up having to bring some other kind of tent/bivvy along as well as?
