Baja divide route on an xr650l?
Hi, I'm in Baja right now and am considering riding at least some of the bikepacking route (made by cyclists) but I'm wondering how tough it will be on a Honda Xr650l with bags and motoz rallz R mitas enduro trail xt+ F.
Anyone have any experience on those trails? Thanks, Andy @andyupsidedown on socials if that matters |
Andy, the lack of response - and lots of views - tells me that no one on a motorcycle forum has any experience on bicycle trails, and has a clue how hard they'd be on a motorcycle!
I think the question is, how good a rider are you? And how willing are you to carry the bike over the spots the bicycle guys wouldn't sweat? Chris Birch might be happy on those trails, you and I maybe not so much. BUT - you can always read bicyclists reviews on the trails, see what THEY think, and then have a look your self. At the first bad spot for you that the bicycle guys don't even mention, you'll have your answer. Hope that helps! |
Grant, I think you were totally right.
I didn't get the reply until now, about to cross into guatemala. I did do some of the routes which varied from incredible and enjoyable, to nearly impassible for me, to brutally punishing, boring, and long. I turned around early on one. Should've done that but didn't on another... It was all over the place. I need to start doing better research : ) Made it through but wouldn't recommend most of it to someone else of my skill level. Largely just because it was pretty solidly type 2 fun type stuff at best. Anyway, thanks for the reply Andy |
