Buying local in Mexico - legal?
 

Hey all,

New to riding and this great site - I did a search but did not find what I was looking for.

I recently moved to Ciudad del Carmen in Campeche, Mexico and am looking at purchasing a used 2008 Honda Tornado as my first bike. I completed the MSF Basic Rider course and have a motorcycle license from Texas.

I was hoping someone with experience could instruct me if it is even possible to buy a local bike and get it registered. Also, what steps would need to be followed.

My hope is that I can purchase the bike and use it for driving around town, some weekend trips and doing some off-road on the beach though I am not sure the tires it has right now are of the correct type.
