Lone Rider and Sjoerd:
Thanks for the information. I never could find the free road south of Juarez. I think it was ten bucks my last trip. That's good news about the two dollar cost on the east coast.

The first time I motorcycled Mexico solo was in 1971. Two months for about 300 bucks--and now the tolls might cost that.

Thanks for the info on toll roads - those could really kill a budget. Since we really are not in a hurry and have no specific destination (generally South), toll roads will be avoided - I'd rather go through small towns than around anyway.

Me and Laura were in Mexico for 3 months on our little Yamahas and camped all over the place. Especially in the South. We just asked farmers if we could camp and they usually said ok. Most hotels we used were in the mountains and we were paying about $17AUD for the both of us when it was to cold. Creel to us looked like a hole, but after a couple of days we loved it.In fact all of Mexico was a blast. We found the South cheaper than nearer the USA border.
