guatemala
Hi guys,
Am looking at flying home for a visit from guatemala. I am planning to be studying spanish at this time in SAN PEDRO LA LAGUNA How easy would it be to get public transport to guatemala city to the airport or If i ride my bike to the airport where can I leave it for around 5 to 6 days? Kind regards and ride safe Paul |
I believe that a boat to Pana and then bus to the city would be the most popular route.
You could arrange for safe bike parking by doing some scouting on a free weekend. |
I was in San Pedro about 3 weeks ago. Getting a bus to GT city will not be a problem, but you will have to transfer busses more than once. Good chance to try out your new Spanish:) As posted, it may be better to take a water taxi to Panajachel, as it is a long way around the lake, on bad roads.

InSan Pedro, speak with Samuel or Vincente Cumes at Casa Rosario Spanish School. They will know where you can leave the bike safely. Better yet, just around the point from the main dock ask for Maria and Joel to see if there is space to stay in one of the thier two cabins by the lake. It is across the street and down the path from the lake side Casa Rosario School. Ask Joel if he has space to lock the bike up in his shed.
