Ulster, Are you sure your visa stops ticking if you are out of the states - mine carried on ticking (6 month visa from US Embassy London). Best to check.
Douglas AZ is a good crossing either way with all services. San fillipe is nice - good camping on the beach at Petes camp. The road south out of San Fillipe is now sealed all but the last 70 miles. Coco's corner and Alfonsinas are worth a stop. The gas station at Alfonsinas isnt reliable so you need a range of 250 miles to be safe. Baja is great, you will love it. Paul |
Mikemike
Hi Mikemike, I am planning on going from Canada to Panama (driving my yukon w/bike to San Antonio TX) and was intrigued by an earlier post you made of a scenic route on the east side of Mexico? Could you please elaborate on where this route would be?
Thanks. |
Bubba, send me a PM with your email and I will send you the ride guide.

MikeMike, PM sent :)

Hi,
Bit late but better than never. Yes, you folks are right. Stopped at the US border post, and indeed my Embassy was wrong. The border guys said no difference if I was in Mexico or USA; Visa kept running. Thy also said my insert giving me 6 months would be taken out of my passport, and I would then be reassessed as to how long I could stay in the USA if I came back into the USA from Mexico. They said I may or may not even get back in, it was up to the officer on the day. Re-grouping at the moment and trying to get a plan; looks like Alaska will not be possible. William. |

how many copies do they require ?
hey guys,
My name christophe, known as chefonbike, I just left Vancouver BC under light snow and plenty of rain in WA, and OR:stormy:, but as I will go through my first Border crossing ( tijuana) this week, I wonder how many copies do they require of each documentation, I have already made some copies of my passport (in B&W) and bike registration, do they require anything else ? thanks and can't wait to see the sun....:palm::Beach: |
