On general principle, I don't advise breaking your leg in a foreign country. I ignored this advice and broke mine here in Nicaragua a few days ago. Salcar has been unbelievably helpful in getting myself sorted, from guiding me through leaving the hospital (similar to a border crossing you need to stop at a couple different windows and get stamps and things before you can leave. No copies, though) to helping get my and my fathers bikes shipped back to the USA to giving us a comfortable place to stay before we fly back to the States Salcar's been on top of everything. This whole broken-leg thing would've sucked infintely more without him.
Oh, and he's a good guy, to boot. What more do you need? Drop in and say 'hi', you won't regret it. Matt |

It was great having you guys here at the house and THANK YOU for all the gear you left!!! I'm sure future riders going south and stopping by will take some of it with them. I hope you enjoyed your flight today in business/first class back to the US. If you are ever planning on coming back to Nicaragua let me know other wise we'll see you in the states. I wish you a fast recovery and hopefully soon you'll be back to :mchappy: S. |
Salcar is the perfect host!
I stayed at Salcar's huge, lovely, quiet home a couple of nights ago.
It's so nice to be able to relax and talk with like minded people, and not have to worry about the safety of your moto and gear. I would highly recommend a stopover here if you're passing through Managua. Thanks again, Salcar, and I'll see you on the way back north. Cheers Margaret |

Motorcycle Rental Nicaragua
Since I moved back to Nicaragua I've been contacted several times by riders that want to come to this beautiful country and rent a motorcycle. Since there are no motorcycle rentals in Nicaragua (at least not ones that rent by the day), Nicaragua has tons of dirt roads and is still a virgin country for tourism I decided that I should buy a couple of bikes to rent out.
Last night the first client came in... and this morning headed out to Leon. Here are a few pictures of one more rider stopping by SalKar Motos. http://salcar.smugmug.com/photos/235162275-M.jpg The rental bike: 2008 Yamaha DT 175cc http://salcar.smugmug.com/photos/235162268-M.jpg Poke it w/ a Stick and myself http://salcar.smugmug.com/photos/235162282-M.jpg Poke it w/ a Stick heading out on his Nicaragua Adventure! If you are interested in renting a motorcycle or doing a tour please contact me.:thumbup1: |

Salvador has a great casa. The plushest lawn I've ever been on. Make sure to stop by.
I flew in, rented a bike, and had a great time. The bike was great. I wouldn't have wanted a bigger bike down there. Lots to see. Friendly people. If you have the opportunity, get down there. |
Cool Sal! see you have had your first customer! Florianopolis is great! great surf and great babes! want to come visit man!

http://salcar.smugmug.com/photos/241137035-M.jpg I also rented a room to the motorcyclist in the picture above since they didn't ride to Nicaragua (this will help me cover some of the cost of having riders here at the house). As you know all motorcyclist riding through Nicaragua can stay at my house for FREE! you need to come visit again. i got some nice beds, more furniture, a kitchen, fridge etc. looks more like a house now :mchappy: 2008 looks a like a busy year down here with a many rides across Nicaragua. :mchappy: I'm glad that you liked Floripa... make sure to put pictures up on your site |
