Texas/Mexico border crossing
Hey! I have a place to stay in Huston so I'll be crossing the border on that side. Any experience with the border at Lerado? Looks like there may be a smaller one at Matamoros. Suggestions?

I've always had good luck crossing at Matamoros. Customs/Immigration is helpful, professional, and will usually speak to you in English.
It is also convenient for cruising down 101/180 south along the east coast. When driving through Matamoros, there are not a lot of signs, but follow those for Ciudad Victoria. If you don't see a sign, go straight. |
I crossed at Pharr Texas two days ago. I always cross there. There is little activity and the customs guys dont dig thru my stuff. You are expected to know some Spanish. Be aware that there is a travelers advisory for Reynosa, and Matamoros is hot too. A web search will turn up the details....

Hi,
I crossed the border at Matamoros about a week ago. Very easy crossing and not busy at all. Just follow the sign for Cuidad Victoria to get out of Matamoros. Patrick |
