Thanks for the details, yes, that sounds right, same as a rental or private vehicle...
Its not easy, thats for sure.I would also be very leary of renting a moto in Nicaragua, where the laws are not stacked in a foreigners favor, for a car rental as well, your guilty to proven innocent, and god forbid you injure someone, your gonna be in jail cell until you settle the medical claims, damage claims, so be careful. You can rent mopeds on Ometepe too... |
I don't know if the after-effects of an accident would be very different whether it happened on a rented bike or my own bike, but I do plan to be careful regardless. And anyway, a rental is my only option since I only have two weeks off work. Also, plenty of others have rented a bike in Nicaragua without any problem, so I'm going to operate on the assumption that it will be fine. If there's trouble, I'll post about it here in May! :)
