I-POD speakers?
does anyone make some nice speakers for my i-pod that'll work from; batteries, bikes 12v current, hotel 120v, AND switchable to 240v? that way one could have music at a campsite, in a 120v hotel, and in asia 240v hotels.

a more versatile/robust option is an iTrip and a radio. you can then use any iPod, and any radio system. plus you can listen to the radio once in a while.

How loud do you want it. You can use passive speakers which don't require batteries. They tend to be smaller and designed for travel as well.

ipod speakers
Try this website for a nice little travel speaker. Bottom of page. It is called the T speaker. Very nice. Available at Radio Shack in the US.

We bought a set of the T speakers and found them to be very good. Small, runs off a single AA battery for about 7-10 hours. They'll have enough volume for use in a hotel room or camp site at night. Using NiMh batteries being charged from the bike during sorted all the power problems.
They will work with other MP3 players but you might need a small audio extension lead as the T speaker is designed to plug directly into the flat surface of the Ipod, other players can have funky shapes that won't allow it to plug in directly. We bought ours from Frys in the US Ian J |
I use some astone i-f2 speakers they are self contained in a hard case battary's will for 18 hours on a full charge. Brillant piece of kit!!!

I have these speakers, definetly rate them, they can rock a small party and a good balance between piddly tinny sounding things and a unit that just sits on your kitchen work top. Comes in black or white with a nice sturdy travel case. About £40 on ebay.
