One person bluetooth
Hi all
I'm looking for a cheap and reliable bluetooth device for my helmet. I do mostly solo riding so 'pillion to pillion' or 'bike to bike' are not high on my list of priorities. It will be used mostly for phone and maybe the occasional bit of music. Is it possible to buy a bluetooth device then add my own helmet speakers and mic via aux input or is it better to but a complete kit? I'm not interested in the crazy money kits like Sena and others. I'm sure they're good but I'm not prepared to spend that kind of money so alternatives please. Thanks |
You can find a sena kit for under $100. It's the best way to go. Either a used SMH10 or they also have a 3S that retails for under $100.

Thanks guys
I didn't realise you could get a Sena for that money. It would be foolish not to get one given their excellent reputation. With a flip front helmet the one with the boom mic is the way to go. |

Chris, I use my Sena only for radio, music and phone. On my flip helmets Caberg Sintesi und Modus I place the wired phone on the side, see picture. It is much better than using a boom mike. It is out of the way, and when driving I can drink out of a bottle when opening the helmet without a disturbing boom mike.
The mike quality is excellent in this position, the other side on the phone does not notice that I am on the bike. Regards, Reinhard |
