You are thinking of the THURAYA satellite phone.
I use a Hughes 7101 in Africa (and lost it there). It does show your lat & long (but it does not track) and you can send it as a text message although, if memory serves me right, it has to be done by hand. I don't recall it being able to do so automatically or at intervals. It doesn't work in South America .Hope this helps. |
