acerbis active helmet, cutting foam??
Hi all
I have this helmet but there is no room for the sun glasses to be able to fit in Im off to morocco at the end of the month so i think i will need my sunglasses, i am thinking about cutting about 2cm squere of foam out of the helmet just infront of my ear so i can slip my sunglasses in, has anyone modified there helmet? should i do it on not??c? cheers Stampy:thumbup1: |
Before I got my ultimate ears I cut a wedge out of the helmet to fit the F4 speakers. I dropped the helmet a bunch of tomes while on my trip this year and even high sided in Irkutsk landing on my noggin. Some will surely say that cutting the foam destroys the strength and integrity of the helmet but my helmet was fine. I'd simply say remove as little as necessary or better still buy a tinted visor. Have fun in Morocco, let us know what you decide. :thumbup1:

Doesn't the Active have a drop down tinted sun-visor though?

It does mate but to be honest they dont offer much protection from dust etc and there not the darkest of tints, i could probably get use to it tho to be fair |
You could probably find a helmet where you can use glasses.
Years ago I changed to an Arai RX4 and the inner foam is constructed in such a way (by accident?) that I can wear my glasses and even put them on and remove them, with the helmet on. The frame of my glasses is however rather thin. |
Out of interest, what do you think of the Acerbis? How is the quality? Noise level etc.? I'm looking to replace my Marushin and this is one of the candidates.
