Mobile power pac: Want to charge it while driving
I have a small mobile Power pac (portable booster battery pac with jumper cables and a 12 volt out put on it). You can plug its wall wart into a 120 volt socket in your house and it charges the thing. I want to be able to charge it while i ride and use it for powering things while my bike is off. Any ideas???? Maybe someone can point me in the right way. Small is better.
basically, I need portable power supply(battery) that i can charge while driving. It's output will need to be 120 volts for various low wattage audio engineering equipment. maybe someone can point me in the right direction???? Maybe a more suitable power pac???? Hmmmm....think i may have put this in the wrong section.....should be in the Tech section. |
Well, an inverter is the way to go, BUT, what type of bike, how much extra power can it produce? Can you run your heated gear(if any) and lights and extras as well as charging this extra battery?
Do you really need to use an inverter? Why not just an extra battery with a shunt regulator to charge both, but isolate the starter battery if power is low, there are many options available, but your actual excess power output from the alternator is needed first. Cheers TS |
thanx travelingstrom, i get what you are saying
