Noise cancelling or "sealing" ?
I think you're all referring to IEM (inner ear monitors) which seal to provide optimum bass response AND isolation from external noise.
The Etymotics and UE's are highly regarded. "Noise cancelling" would require a feedback loop to permit phase cancelling of external noises - wind noise, jet-engine roar, but not effective on spurious noise or voice. This is available widely in headphones and effectively for as little as $150. |
Shure Earphones
I have been using the Shure ear phones for years. They are fantastic and you can get different sized foam plugs to properly fit your ears. Wear them 10 hours a day no problem no pain and fantastic sound with great sound deadening qualities.

it works
Yes, I have two sets, very cheap Philips (SHN2600 - $20,-) and expensive Sennheizer (CXC700 - $220). The Philips work like a charm under the helmet. The Sennheiser doesn't work, above 80kmph some sort of static noise is generated and amplified. With the Philips, when I put on music while standing still, I can keep it at the same level up to 100kmph! That is excellent. And the exhaust noise is completely filtered out!
