Riding in clogs!
My new enduro/motocross style boots turned up today so i went for a short ride in them earlier.
Compared to my usual road ones it feels like im wearing clogs, i cant feel the brake or gear levers at all. Do you just get used to this or are my boots just crap?:confused1: |
Motocross/enduro (and most) adventure boots are a lot more solid than typical leather road boots, especially around the toe area which tends to have a lot of plastic armour to protect your tootsies from errant rocks etc.
It can feel a bit detatched at first, but you do get used to it - and most dual-sport adventure bikes have plenty of room around the gear lever/footrest for larger chunkier boots so it shouldn't actually impede your shifting, just feel a little more remote - what bike do you ride? xxx btw. A plug for Alpinestar Vector boots - they are tough, but more supple than the usual enduro fare... |
Thanks for the reply,
I've got a yamaha xt600e. I have tried the boots again today with the buckles quite loose and i think im getting used to them a bit now.:mchappy: |
If you move your gearlever up a spline or two on it's shaft you'll be able to change up a lot easier, although you'll then have to move your foot more to change down.
