Hi , my friend does use them on his KLR and his very happy about them , especialy the protection part in metal. I myself use the Ortlieb and love them too. are using them for long trip or just for weekend.

Thanks for the response. I will be using them mainly for the trip to Creel in October. I would also like to know if they remove easily so I can take them off during local rides.

I think I will also look at the other bags that you recomended. I like the Moto-Sports because they have a removable liner and they have a metal backing plate.

Regards, Perry

To respond to your question they do remove pretty easily but make sure about the type of mounting you are using on your bike .(what bike would be using)

Thanks, the bags will be going on a KLR, so I think I will have to reconfigure the rear lights. What else do you think I will have to do?

Are you going to the HU meeting in Creel this year?

I don't think that there will be much to other than maybe relocate the blinkers or maybe change them for smaller one, my opinion is be very carefull with after market blinker they do work well and fit great but nobody can see them and that is pretty dangerous. I am going to ride from Miami to Panama this summer and maybe if my schedule work I will go to the Creel meeting.

$450 seems like a lot of money for a set of soft bags. You might check out these for less than half that amount:

I've used them on my KLR for shorter trips and they have served me well, although they may not be as large as the ones you are considering. I believe they have a lifetime warranty also.
