tkc problem?
 

ive just had to take the mt500s rear tyre to be changed around on the rim. the tyre had been fitted backwards (a tkc) so i took it to national tyres in donny they managed to get one side off and remove the tube but when they tried to take the other side off they tore the bead apart exposing the wire core and knackering the tyre
so now i have to replace a nearly new tyre but for an off road where you are expecting punctures this to me seams a rather ex stream that you cannot remove the tyre without destroying the tyre bead. has anyone else come across this problem with these tyres?:(

The TKC's are fine. Had loads put on, taken off and put on again...

Agree with redboots sounds like a bad tyre fitter they are meant to be the pros get them to replace it or at least 50% of the price.

a lot of car places aint too hot on changing bike tyres I always do it myself, its a pain but i figure if i can do it at home I may just manage when out and about :)

as for your tyre they wrecked a new tyre make them replace with another new tyre. or consult the place that fitted it wrong in the first place.:scooter:

Not sure where in South Yorkshire you are, but National Tyres in Barnsley are your best bet for getting motorcycle tyres fitted/removed/changed in future. I'm surprised that National Tyres in Doncaster didn't advise you to call them instead of trying to do it themselves as Barnsley does loads of bike tyres and most other National Tyres branches recommend them.

Unless it was the wrong size tyre on the rim, there's no way they should of damaged it apart from being idiots.

Putting it on backwards won't make it harder to fit/remove.
