94 ultra classic
hopefully this falls under the tech category. i am wanting to do a changeover to cd from cassette. however, i want to keep the left hand controls for the new deck. the harley dealers i have spoken with say this is out of their rhelm and an aftermarket situation.
¿anyone know of a solution, short of putting out $2100 for the manufacture´s ñew system? saludos K |
This should be straightforward, as long as the deck you plan to install can accept external control inputs (most modern ones can). Installing it would be best-handled by a car audio installer, as re-wiring original looms into aftermarket decks is what they do most of their time.

most decks will accept external loops, but the h-d factory has made their stereos compatible specifically and only with the left hand controls. i was hoping there would be an aftermarket product available to solve this situation. thanks K.

One of the key features of a good rider is that of concentration. Why would anyone want to introduce an added distraction??

thanks for your helpful input monk, but hand controls are a huge asset and eliminate diverting your concentration from the road. that is the essence of my dilemna. my choice is to relax and ride with tunes, when appropriate, not yours. driving an 88 inch bagger in mexico city on a daily basis should speak for my abilities, and serious concentration factor. but thanks just the same.
