Aerostich Titanium tyre iron (lever)
Has anyone used these items? are they any good?
I know they are expensive, but is the weight saved worth the extra cost? They weigh 4.4 ounces (125 grams) a pair. Thanks |
Have a look Jim Stanley's offering first. Ti irons but with some axle nut sockets built in. Half the price too!
I bought some of Jim's irons. Sod's law - I haven't had a single puncture since. Most of my mates have borrowed mine on the trail though, and they work just fine. http://www.sopgear.com/new_page_4.htm [This message has been edited by Cugel (edited 11 February 2006).] |
Thanks for that Cugel, are they flat or shaped? it's difficult to tell from the photo.
I like the idea of the integral spanner. Bill |
Hi Bill,
Not completely flat - I'll take a pic end-on tomorrow in the daylight and email to you. Alternatively, you are not far from me, so have a go sometime if you want. I'm in Moseley, S. Birmingham. Next time I'm up your way is 21st Feb - going riding in the Peaks. Could drop in to Stoke if neccessary. I need to go over to DK Motorcycles anyway. Mike |
