best Motorbike Air Compressor to buy
looking to buy an air compressor ,what is the best one to buy ,compact ,and heavy duty one ?
cheers |
Hi Omar,
we dragged this one around the world: AIRMAN COMPRESSOR SET INCL. SEALANT - Louis - Motorcycle & Leisure Worked perfect, and is reasonable small. It worked even fine with our 125cc Honda Waves Cheers Patrick PS: I'm not in any way related to the vendor Louis ;) |
Yeah, thats the same we carry. I think Wunderlich sells them for Beemers, too. Must say that I have not come across any compressor which has a pressure gauge worth to be called a gauge, though. I hate to be left guessing like "oh, it appears to be in the general range of between 2 and 3 bars! Instead of coughing up 150 Euros for a compressor with an exact gauge, I carry a Flaig pressure gauge equipped with a de-compression valve and a 90 degree connector, so I can just put on pressure on the tire and then release it down to the exact level. Thus I can get compressed air even at those gas stations where the gauge is worthless (99% of the stations I patronize seem to have crap gauges, if at all) and can spare myself digging for my compressor, which I carry mostly for emergency issues such as flat tires. Some people may prefer manual pumps; as we are travelling with two (and next year probably three) bikes, it´s a good choice for me.

hi Anklekarle ,Keks ,
for your kind replies ,yes i will go for it want to know if the sealant will may harm my inner tube ? or not ? cheers |
Hi Omar,
sorry but I don't know. I bought the compressor without the sealant (there was no package option available as there is now). Cheers Patrick |
this one is pricey but good:
CyclePump Adventure - 12v Compressor and this one is cheaper and still fairly compact Slime Tyre Pump (TES-STI1) - Nippy Normans |
Tyre pump
Hi,
I got the slime pump. Easy to carry on a bike. So far, I have used it only once on the bike, but many times to pump up balls, pushbike tyres aso. seems to work pretty good so far. Doesn't cost a fortune, why not going for it. Cheers |
From what I can see on the pics of the Slime compressor (this is a joke, is it?) it ain´t smaller than the Airman, just the body is smaller as it does not houses the cable and hose. Overall packaging does not seem to be smaller. The airman is available without the sealant spray, too.
Using sealant spray on inner tubes is IMHO a totally stupid idea (although some people will disagree). Removing a slime-(there you go)filled tube later for a lasting repair and then re-fitting it is not what I consider a funny affair; cleaning the inside of the tire is not either. Taking decent repair stuff for the inner tube is the only option for me. Cheers Chris |
The Airman is smaller than the slime one, hence why NN is selling it off cheaper.

We use the CyclePump 12V air compressor as well and highly recommend it.
