Cheap alternative crash bar/tank panniers?
 

Hi all,

My girlfriend has decided to jump on board for a couple of weeks of an upcoming 3 month trip so I'm looking for a cheap alternative to the Kriega and SW Motech style crash bar bags to carry a little extra gear while she is around.

Maybe around 8-13 litres per side? I'm happy to line them with a dry bag but waterproof would be awesome.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Try bicycle panniers. They tend to come in different sizes, have the ability for creative mounting options, and be made out of the same ballistic nylon as moto soft luggage. I've seen them for cheap in my local big box store.

Alternatively, house brand panniers from big retailers. https://www.louis.eu/katalog/marken/moto-detail/79 - that's the Louis.eu house brand, I've used them and they were fine. I certainly can't imagine Touratech being proportionally as much better as they are more expensive. ;)
