Cheap Pannier Frame / Side rack
Hi Folks,
i am looking for a cheap/affordable side rack to mount a pannier or box (thinking about a cheap solution in the near future). I think this is a general question as the vendors have racks for most common bikes however i drive a F800GS. I fund a GIVI rack ~ 150€ and racks from holan.pl (from some recommendations here) for 180€. Do you have any experiences? Can you recommend them or would you tend to the more expensive ones from TT. I dont plan a big trip soon however it would of cause be nice to use them for a long trip and many years :innocent:. Do you know about any other cheap alternative :helpsmilie:. Excuse me if I posted this thread at the wrong place or if it is redundant. |

If you have the Vario rack now, then you may be interested in this thread. Let's just use the Vario Racks https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?sha...e_pid=33956611 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Welcome to HU felix93!
It's always a little tricky to figure out which of almost 100 forums is right, and you were close, but I've moved it to a better one. Hope you get the answer you're looking for! The F800 is now common, so there should be several solutions out there. There's always some "you get what you pay for" of course. Keep in mind what your end goal is - heavy boxes for two-up touring or lightweight softbags for quick getaways? In other words, how good do the racks have to be? Constantly repairing a broken rack is a common story from travellers! |

Holan have a good reputation. I would also look closely at classified forums on F800GS sites and look for 2nd hand racks/panniers. :scooter: |

So this is a rather unspecific question. But maybe you can tell me if the GIVI is worth its money and or if a other one is it too (or not). Thanks! |

Hi there,
a short update, it might be interesting for someone. I got the panniers from Heavy Duty. A small company from Romania. The panniers cost 95€ + shipping. So far I am really happy: The rack looks and feels really robust and from good quality. However I didnt test them offroad. HeavyDuty Best Felix |
