Dual Sport tires- what to get?
I am shopping for a pair of 90% road, dual sport tires for my MZ Baghira. My primary need is that they will last for 9-10,000 miles of road riding. Will the Metzler Tourances go the distance? How about the Avon Distanzia? Any recommendations? Bonus points if you can refer me to a US supplier.<g>.

Hi
I got some TKC80 Continental tyres which lasted me for about 15000miles,the back tyre lasted from london to Khartohum and the front to Dares Alam,I never had one front punture but had 5 in the rear, for me the TKC80 are excilent and cheap tyres and still use them |
Hi,
I second that. The TKC80 (Continental twinduro) is the perfect tyre for the front. It will last at least 15.000 km (tarmac or gravel) Alos very good is the Dunlop D605. For the rear I would choose less knobbly. I really liked the Dunlop D604. It lasted 24.000 km. The Tourance lasted only 12.000 wich surprised me totaly course it costs twice as much as the rest. Hope this helps. Maarten ------------------ - www.maartensworld.com - - Some photo's - |
I have MT60s on my XR125L they are great on the road and not bad off road.
Have not good much knowledge of tires and have only done 800 miles on them but they seem to work great. Rob |
