seat solutions...
I'm equipping my bike for a central / South America trip. Does anyone have experience with the Gel Seat replacement seat from Dual Star? It seems to be a Gel overlay, or 'slip cover'. I'm supposed to remove the old seat and foam and simply staple the gel seat in its place. Is this a good solution to spending approx. $350.00 for a Corbin seat. It looks good but I don't know what my butt will think after six or seven hours. The stock seat is just 'undoable'. Any other tips?

Air Hawk
I purchased an Air Hawk seat for my bike - cost $125. A great solution and very comfortable. You can google Air Hawk for more information.

new seat
the gel seat from DS is a joke , I bought it for my KLR and to be honest when I received it as was surprised that they had the ball to sale it, it a piece of fom with a gel bar in the midle, if you are planning very long day (over 500miles a day) go with a corbin ( not waterproof ) or seargent, if you are planning 200 to 300 miles get you to your seat or buy a hair hock or sheep skeen. try your bike first for few long ride before changing seat ,most of the modern bike have pretty confortable ones for day ride.

first springs then shape then padding then contact layer...both the caress and moisture logistics miss any one of those steps, and your seat sucks again a week from now. |

On another note, Im not sure who the company "DS" is however I do not believe we are in anyway associated with this company. If you need interior/exterior pads or indeed wish to cut up one of our wheelchair cushions as the above client, we are more than happy to quote. Regards Lynne Timm |
