Tank/crash bar bags.
Any recommendations about bags that attach to the crash bars (Yamaha T700)? Use would be for tools, puncture repair kit and maybe waterproofs. Fitting of a tool tube is proving problematic for my set up. Based in UK, and need something quite urgently as I'm heading off soon. Many thanks.

Bit of a faff to put on but that improves security - I used them on a long trip and they were great. |
I had a pair of Pelican cases that I attached to my crashbars using u-bolts—quick and dirty, my motto. They locked, were waterproof, and did a great job of protecting my legs when I dropped the bike in a parking lot (for purely research purposes, of course). As a bonus, they provided some extra real estate for stickers when I filled up my rear panniers and top box.
The negatives are obvious: bulky, heavy, hard to mount and dismount, etc. |
