Only my recent journey through populated areas of the Alps etc. I carried a few spares.

1 innertube, as I run 16 inch wheels, they are not to be found readily.
1 gascable
1 clutchcable
1 toolkit, rollable, fits in a fist.
10 fuses, old round type
1 multitool.

I find that if you know where your things are you can fit in alot more. The cables I just stuck into small "air pockets" in my panniers, no extra weight or space taken. Same goes for innertube. The other tools I could fit into a little pocket on my tankbag so I always have them with me.
