Wolfman Explorer Tank Bag
 

Did all the usual seaches and found nothing specific.
Anybody got one of these bags??? Aerostitch have them and they look the part, quality seems to be up there.
I currently have a DriRider Voyager tank bag but after 6 years it has seen better days.
Current bike is a DL1000 and the bag capacity needs to be 26 litres or there abouts.

Any comments good or bad would be appreciated.

I'm looking at these too for my CRF so any feedback would be appreciated. All I can say is I e-mailed the company with an inquiry and they never replied.

Followed the link but that was for a "Lite" version which is a smaller Tank Bag. Did some more searching and found heaps of info. Some minor probs with the rain cover flapping about if the tank bag is not full but that's exactly what you would expect.
Everyone said that Wolfman Luggage had given them exceptional service!

I recently ordered small Enduro bag and service was very good. When placing order their shipping charge seemed quite steep but they actually refunded some money back to my card as real shipping cost was lower than I was first charged from web site. :thumbup1: That was from UK representative (Winding Roads), not Wolfman USA.

The Enduro variant was actually somewhat bigger than I imagined (everyone tells it is very small), fitting my cooking gear (Optimus Hunter stove, Mini Trangia cookset and 0,5l mug). The bag looks nice, but zipper cover is too stiff, it is difficult to zip/unzip the bag (may be isolated case).

I have one I use on a KLR. Works fine, good construction. Shaped to have a flat top when put on humpy gas tanks. I would recommend it.

I took one on my RTW ride. It worked great- I still use it. One particulary handy option is the straps to convert it into a backpack. It works very well as a day pack. All things considered though, if I buy another tanks bag it will be a waterproof one. As mentioned the rain cover does not stay on well and it is one more thing to carry.

I've been using an Explorer bag on by GS for the past 2 years.
It's an excellent piece of equipment. Very well made and quite versatile with the different accessories.
I got all of them! Larger pockets, extra top bag, shoulder straps.
The rain cover is a bit awkward because it catches air from underneath and balloons while riding. It does work even in the heaviest of monsoon rains.

I like the mounting system, which is similar to the old Eclipse bags(remember those?) but more stable.
The bag is very stable and I tend to load it top heavy with a camelback water bladder in the top compartment.

The only gripe I might have is that it's quite tall and blocks some of the airflow from my chest.
Quality wise it's tip top.
And the rain cover really isn't an issue because it's very water resistant in everything but the heaviest of downpours.

It should keep out water & dust. The downside appears to be that it is more fiddly to open and perhaps can't accommodate a water bladder tube so well.

Think I'd go for all black too...

Wolfman bags really are excellent. I've used various bags for off-roading and they are by far the best designed and toughest. Everything stays put, even hitting big jumps, and they have survived numerous falls. Infact, I like them so much that I'm doing the distribution in Iberia. Here's one of my CRFs all Wolfmaned -

I think it would fit but check with Eric at Wolfman. He runs a big Acerbis tank on an XR650R and there's pics of that with the tank bag on.

Excellent quality
Colour coded zip ends are arse about, yellow should be to open up sections and black to expand. This is not how it was delivered
No fitting instructions included for my bike '08 DL1000, despite numerous emails I received no reply.
Map pocket is too short by about 25mm or 1" to take an A5 size map book??
Rain cover must have been modified as it works well
Removal for refuelling is simple

Would I buy it again?

Yes but only if the map pocket issue is resolved

I have small Wolfman Enduro tank bag and there map pocket is even smaller, it is basically useless. What I did was I removed it and attached Haglöfs outdoor map pocket to tank bag with 2 big snap fasteners. Now I have big A4+ map pocket than folds 3-fold when closed. Works well.

I agree the 'map pocket' on the enduro bag is a bit small for maps - but I don't think that's realy what it's for - rather an enduro time card?... while when traveling it's ideal for a written sheet of directions, or a mobile phone/iPod etc.

Otherwise, the Wolfman bags are fantastic (and the UK distributor excellent customer service as some else has said). I've had the enduro bag for a number of years, and have a couple of friends who have recently bought one each and swear by them too now... the enduro size is ideal for a decent tool kit, and spare tube / puncture stuff - and means you don't need a tail pack which makes getting on and off more easy...
